Let's Do This...

So I have always been active and into something athletic. I grew up playing basketball, softball and volleyball. I was the girls intramural director in college and played on teams as well, my college roommates and best friend were on the college basketball team so I would play pick up and run with them. I also joined a local karate studio while in college too! It was a great workout. After I got married I still worked out and got into different fitness classes at the gym. It was not until I turned 25 and got on fertility meds that everything went down hill for me. I was still working out and getting into new things (running half marathons and swimming). The weight just seemed to creep up no matter what I did. After five years of fertility drugs I had gained 50 pounds! I was blessed and I have a beautiful baby boy. I was able to loose my baby weight fairly quickly (which was 46 lbs). I broke my weight up into baby weight and fertility weight. The fertility weight will just not budge! I do have to say that ever since having my little boy though, working out is something that does not come easy to do. Whew! I am working on that book, "Overwhelming Joy", no one tells you about being a new mom and all the overwhelming joys that come with it. I now feel that I am a little more balanced and that now is the time to jump in and really work hard at loosing the weight and getting healthy. I know I will most likely never be 138 lbs, but I can definitely be healthier.
I am going to blog along the way, as I am hoping it will be therapeutic for me just as my fertility blog was for me during that journey. I am hoping and praying to have another baby and this is something I have to do before I can get pregnant again. Come on will power and strength.
I am going to start on January 7, 2013 since that is the first day back to work after the holidays. I will do better on my schedule. The first week I am implementing...
1. Drinking LOTS of water. My goal is 60 oz. (which is HUGE for me)
2. Watch my calorie intake to 1600 calories
3. Take my vitamins
4. Drink green tea
5. Do a fitness routine before getting in the shower every morning. Wake up! daily workout....Do this routine before every shower: 50 jumping jacks, 5 pushups, 20 crunches, 20 mountain climbers, and 30 second plank.)Wish me luck!!!I hope/plan to update weekly
